Valentine’s Day is fast approaching, but as the years go by chocolates and stuffed animals begin to become a little saturated.
Finding new creative gifts for your family, friends, and significant other is rather challenging depending on your DIY skills.
That’s where “Love Notes from Around the World” steps in.
At first it seemed like another BuzzFeed crafty DIY until I decided to give it a chance and try it for myself.
Could it be possible to come up with a creative and out-of-this-world project just as these online articles make it seem to be?
It took little to no effort to join “Love Notes from Around the World,” a private Facebook group.
Soon after being accepted onto this group I submitted my very first post.
It was very simple. I added that I’m from Niagara Falls, work right by the Falls every weekend and I’m looking for any type of note for my boyfriend, no place in particular.
My post got flooded with comments about wanting to do a “trade” in a matter of hours. It turns out everyone is all over having one of the eight wonders of the world in their note collection.
Within days, I had notes from all over the world: United Kingdom, Africa, Australia, France and Amsterdam. You name it I had it.
The overwhelming positive response to my very first post took me by surprise.
After the first week I had a total of 21 love notes from almost every continent.
Write down 21 lovely letters and snap a quick picture of each in front of the Falls.
It took me less than 10 minutes.
The whole experience was rather wholesome and made me feel more aware of others around the globe and more connected.
It opened my world to new mothers doing a years-long project for their newborn babies, newlyweds celebrating their first anniversary, daughters and sons expressing their gratitude to their parents, and other people like me just doing a fun Valentine’s Day gift.
Celebrating little holidays throughout the year doesn’t have to be stressful or saturated.Who knew sending your love all over the world and back was that easy?
