By KAITLYN ANDREWS Staff Writer The Nerds and Geeks are back in the SAC! The club has split in two: it is now known as NCSAC’s Nerds and Geeks and Nerds and Geeks of Niagara (NGN). The Nerds and Geeks of Niagara club are community based, not sanctioned through the school, where as NCSAC’s Nerds and Geeks are college sanctioned by Student Administrative Council (SAC). “I feel the group is benefiting very well with it being a sanctioned club,” said Vice-president of NCSAC’s Nerds and Geeks Chelsea Morin. “Due to the fact that it’s not actually being ran through the school but by SAC, who are mostly students, we do have more freedom than if we were ran by the school.” As one of the few clubs functioning this year, it belongs to the students. This club was created to relate and reach out to the “nerd” community at Niagara College and does so with all the support of the student body and SAC. “We are the biggest club in the school,” said Neil Hamon, a current member. “The club has an open door policy and accepts everyone.” NCSAC”S Nerds and Geeks will never turn away anyone. Those interested in joining the largest club at Niagara College can simply go to the Facebook page, NCSAC’s Nerds and Geeks and join. Joining on Facebook is the first step to becoming a full-time member.
